FOR MARCHING BAND AND DANCE TEAM
Saturday, June 20th
· 9:00 – 2:00 Dance Team Car Window Wash at the Hess Station on the corner of Cypress Lake Drive and Summerlin – Shannon Favorite is the parent chaperone for this event. Monies earned will be applied to your “fair share” individual account.
Thursday, June25th
· 12:00 – 3:00 Optional Snare Drum Workshop – This is a great way for new and returning members to meet Dave Keen, the percussion instructor, and to pick up on basic techniques. – take home your drums for the parade
Saturday, July 4th
- Marching Band - 4th of July Parade. This parade is for all members of the marching band past. This is not for new members that have yet learned the music nor learned how to march. The area is known as Riverside. It encompasses the area from McGregor to the river, between Gasparilla Drive and Caloosa Drive. Based upon this years plans, the groups will form at the southwest corner of Avocado Drive and Plumosa Drive at 8:30 a.m., and the parade will start promptly at 9:30 (before it gets too hot). The entire route is 0.8 miles. The parade proceeds toward McGregor on Plumosa for one block, turn right on Hibiscus, two blocks to Gasparilla, turn right one block to Avocado, proceed northbound on Avocado to the park at the intersection of Caloosa Drive. Everything relating to the parade will be over easily by 10:00 a.m. For all those volunteering their summer time and committing to the parade, there will be $1,000.00 divided up between you. $1,000.00 will be used towards “Fair Share” accounts. Great way to start the year. Wear band t-shirt and jeans along with your dinkles. Dancers, wear shorts and band shirt unless you hear from otherwise from Katie Miller.

· 12:00 - 3:00 Optional Tenor Drum Workshop- This is a great way for new and returning members to meet Dave Keen, the percussion instructor, and to pick up on basic techniques.
Wednesday, July 22nd
· 12:00 – 3:00 Summer Dance Camp Rehearsal – Strengthen dance skills and learn routine for camp. Only those attending the optional summer camp should attend. Final payment for dance camp is due. Please bring a check tonight and we will figure our all “fair share” accounts prior to you writing the final check.

· 12:00 – 3:00 Optional Bass Drum Workshop - This is a great way for new and returning members to meet Dave Keen, the percussion instructor, and to pick up on basic techniques.
· 3:00 – 5:00 Summer Dance Camp Rehearsal – Strengthen dance skills and learn routine for camp. Only those attending the optional summer camp should attend.

· 3:00 – 5:00 Summer Dance Camp Rehearsal – Strengthen dance skills and learn routine for camp. Only those attending the optional summer camp should attend.
Saturday, July 25th
· 3:00 – 5:00 Summer Dance Camp Rehearsal – Strengthen dance skills and learn routine for camp. Only those attending the optional summer camp should attend.
Sunday, July 26th through Wednesday, July 29th
· Morning Dancers depart for Summer Dance Camp at USF in Tampa.
Tuesday, August 11th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Drum Line Auditions
· 6:00 Booster Board Meeting
Wednesday. August 12th
· 8:30 am – 4:30 Leadership report
· 8:30 – 4:30 Drum Line Auditions
Thursday, August 13th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Leadership, Dance Team, and Percussion line report for training – you will need water, lunch, hat, sun glasses, suntan lotion and light colored clothing.
· 4:30 – 5:30 Instrument Rental – All marching, symphonic and orchestral members needing a school owned instrument may rent one or more for twenty dollars per school year. There will be one fee accessed per school year regardless of the quantity of instruments desired.
· 6:00 – 7:30 Marching Band Parent and Student Information Night
Friday, August 14th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Full marching band rehearsal (dancers are a part of marching band) – you will need water, lunch, a hat, sunglasses, suntan lotion and light colored clothing. All instrumentalists must have a lyre for their instrument as well as a flip folder. There will be lunch and light snacks available for those that do not bring their own. These snacks are sold at cost.
Monday, August 17th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Marching Band Camp (including dance team) – learn marching fundamentals and music. Dancers start routines
Tuesday, August 18th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Marching Band Camp (including dance team) – learn marching fundamentals and music. Dancers continue routines. Start learning the Disco halftime show.
Wednesday, August 19th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Marching Band Camp (including dance team) – learn marching fundamentals and music. Dancers continue routines. Continue learning halftime show.
Thursday, August 20th
· 8:30 – 4:30 Marching Band Camp (including dance team) – learn marching fundamentals and music. Dancers continue routines.
Prepare for SHOW NITE
· 5:30 SHOW NITE – marching band performs for parents and friends.
· 6:00 Booster Gathering in ensemble room while students have dinner
Monday, August 24th
· 7:10 First day of school.
